The Inaugural Artificial Intelligence Conference

Developing a European Strategy fo AI

In October 2018 in Brussels, stakeholders gathered for a one day policy debate that explored where Europe can lead in the AI revolution, and how it can shape global policy approaches. Discussions were animated via panel debates, in-conversation interviews, tech-talks and keynotes.

Forum Europe’s AI conference took place following a period of reflection on the European Commission’s AI initiative announced in April, and came on the back of the high-level ministerial meeting in Finland on AI.

Key themes included:

  • Access, re-use and sharing of data to improve machine and deep learning
  • Research and innovation, open development and cooperation between industry and the public sector
  • Ethics, ethical design and legal frameworks
  • Employment and digital skills
